Mombo relative constructions

Abstract

This paper deals with description and analysis of Mombo internally headed relative constructions. In contrast to the previous proposals for Dogon languages it is argued that the head of the relative moves out of relative clause to a position at its left and that a proper movement analysis requires process whereby the internal lower copy of the movement chain receives morphological features of the higher external copy.
