Experiences with performing a thermal response test in boreholes for heat pumps

Abstract

This paper presents a Thermal Response Test (TRT) performed in two testing boreholes for heat pumps in the Czech Republic. The TRT is a special in-situ technique used abroad for the determination of key parameters needed for the proper borehole design: the undisturbed ground temperature, thermal conductivity of rock massif and the borehole resistance.
