AN ADVANCED SCIENTIFIC PRODUCT: THE ATLAS „CLIMATIC RESOURCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA”

Abstract

The accelerated rhythm of climate change, and the need to adapt to these changes, lack of current information concerning regional climate resources, conditioned the elaboration of „Climatic Resources of the Republic of Moldova Atlas”, using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as a research tool. Thematic maps obtained by overlapping with administrative districts map, allow users to obtain climate information at the administrative district level. We consider that the Atlas will provide geoinformational support on decision making with applicative character for state institutions or private individuals.
