Representações das categorias cognitivas e sua diacronia. Interface Linguística cognitiva - Linguística histórica

Abstract

Since the nineteen-eighties onwards, Historical Linguistics has been given fresh attention by Brazilian linguists. This text aims to point out new trends in current diachronic research. To this end, the text is divided into three sections: key theoretical developments in Historical Linguistics, complex systems and Historical Linguistics, the representation of the cognitive category MOTION in the history of the Portuguese language. In the conclusion, a Principle of projection has been proposed in order to put together different manifestations of MOTION.
