La apoptosis y el sistema cardiovascular. Apoptosis and the cardiovascular system.
Abstract
La apoptosis o muerte celular programada ha sido demostrada en diversas condiciones fisiológicas y patológicas del sistema cardiovascular. Esta forma de muerte celular se diferencia de la necrosis en que sin inflamación o trauma aparente y con la membrana celular íntegra se fraccionan las cadenas de DNA y la célula muere en unas horas. Ocurre en humanos en la miocardiopatía de Uhl, en la displasia arritmogénica del ventrículo derecho y en la miocardiopatía dilatada de origen idiopático. Existen evidencias experimentales de que puede ser un sustrato importante en el Síndrome de Wolf Parkinson White, en el bloqueo AV congénitoy en el Síndrome de QT prolongado. También parece estar presente en la remodelación posinfarto, mientras que el precondicionamiento isquémico parece inhibirla. Se ha encontrado apoptosis en los órganos diana de la hipertensión arterial y puede ser parte del proceso aterosclerótico vascular. Es posible que en el futuro se pueda controlar este «suicidio celular» ubicuo en el organismo. Apoptosis or programmed cellular death has been demosntrated in diverse physiological and pathological condictions of the the cardiovascular system. This form of cellular death differs from necrosis in that without inflammation or apparent trauma and with the complete cellular membrane the DNA chains are fragmentized and the cell dies in a few hours. It occurs among humans in the myocardiopathy of Uh1, in the arrhytmogenic displasia of the right ventricle and in the dilated myocardiopathy of idiopathic origin. There are experimental evidences that it may an important susbstrate in the syndrome of Wolf Parkinson White, in the AV congenital blook, and in the syndrome of prolongued QT. It appears to be present in the postinfarct remodelation, whereas the ischemic preconditioning seems to inhibit it. Apoptosis has been found in the target organs of arterial hypertension and it may be part of the atherosclerotic vascular process. It is possible that in the future this ubiquitous «cellular suicide» in the organism may be controlled.
