The scientific production’s bibliometric analysis of the Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology Provincial Center

Foundation: scientific journals constitute the means par excellence for the socialization and dissemination of the research’s results carried out both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; the publication of an article constituting the final step of the research. Objective: to characterize, from bibliometric, the professionals’ scientific production of the Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology Provincial Center from 2018 to 2022.Methods: a descriptive, retrospective study of the health professionals’ scientific production was carried out in the Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology Provincial Center publications database.Results: the greatest predominance of publications is in scientific journals (77.78%), the greatest scientific production year was 2018 with 30.16%. Scientific production activity has been decreasing. There is a tendency for researchers to work collaboratively, all contributions have multiple authorship. Medisur magazine was the most predominant with 43%, followed by The Biologist with 22.22%.Conclusions: there is a decrease in the number of publications, evident over the years. The Medisur magazine continues to be one of the most used by authors when publishing.
