In this era the internet has become very popular to each and everyone. Due to enormous growth of internet it is exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed. It may lead to node failure, link failure and fluctuations due to certain reasons like instabilities of interior routers, hardware failures, software problems etc. In comparison with link failure or change in the topology, the time required to converge the network is very large. Also with increase in network complexity, the flexibility of network control and network management become a nontrivial problem. The network convergence is one of the major problems in this dynamically changing network topology. These changing topologies lead to increase in network instabilily as well as convergence time. The proposed system uses the fickle minimum route advertisement interval timer (FMRAI) for fast update of routing table, which leads to reduction in the convergence time of a network. In comparison with static MRAI timer of 30 s the FMRAI timer leads to better result and quick convergence of network. Keywords: Convergence time, MRAI, FMRAI, Inter-domain routing
