Les impacts de la flexibilité du travail sur l’interaction travail-famille/vie personnelle
Abstract
This paper deals with the work-family/personal life relationship whose borders have become increasingly blurred. Job flexibility is the analytical category used here to investigate such relationship because of its influence in generating conflicts in this area. The professional groups analyzed are written press journalists and professional freelance journalists working for book editors in Rio de Janeiro. Contract and temporal flexibility dimensions are identified as the greatest contributors to unbalances in the work-private life relation, and both groups experience conflicts in different ways according to their flexibility characteristics of. It has been observed that the increase in the total amount of working hours raised the probability of conflicts. Measures related to work-private life conciliation should take into consideration job flexibility aspects.
