Heritage as an input to self-identity in contemporary art

Abstract

The issue of inspiration from the heritage is one of the most important issues facing the contemporary artist who wants to express his/her self and ideas and presents a new artistic vision in a special way and at the same time expresses his /her identity through innovative approaches to inspire from the heritage that carries the identity in all its philosophical, social, economic and ideological dimensions as it is a fertile source of creativity. It is possible that the heritage could be a central point or a beginning of an artistic and cultural responsibility for the contemporary artist. Research Assumption It is possible to maintain self-identity in contemporary art through innovative approaches to the heritage inspiration. Objectives - Presenting samples of art works by contemporary artists in which self-identity is achieved. - Classification of innovative approaches to inspire from the heritage in order to achieve self-identity in contemporary art.
