The importance of cultural dimension in translation: the example of French and Italian languages
Abstract
We relate our analysis on the role of cultural dimension in translation. It is the result of our observations in our lessons of specialized translation and methodology that we provide as part of our teaching at the Faculty of Foreign Languages (Université Charles de Gaulle – Lille 3). They focus on the act of translation, real communicative, linguistic and cultural mediation where the encoding of cultural references is at the center of access strategies to meaning.
