The paper is devoted to the problem of interaction between school and family. Analyzing the works of Russian teachers of the 19th century, the author examines the ways of interaction of school with family, involving parents in the teaching and educational process and participation of parents in school’s management; pedagogical education of parents, their assistance to teachers in realization of control over child’s behavior and progress is considered.
