This paper is interested in the way in which a dispute over access to the right to decent housing is built and managed in a Buenos Aires city in Argentina. Starting with the reconstruction of a land occupation event, the various legal readings and criteria of legitimacy mobilized by the actors involved will be investigated. On the other hand, the state administration of the conflict will be explored, paying attention to the actions, languages and temporalities that operated in its processing. The registration of the event in a greater context of significance will make it possible to note that it was not an exception, but a recurring problem that, in this case, escalated to the level of a collective claim.
