Observations on the Arctic charr, Salvelinus alpinus (L., 1758) from the Hornsund region (Vest Spitsbergen) in 1985-1987

Abstract

Results of observations on biology. occurrence. capture methods. and preservation of the Arctic charr from the Hornsund region are presented.Certain unfavourable changes in abundance and age composition of the population sampled justify the plea for protection of the species in the Svalbard area studied.
