The article presents the results of the study of perceptions of population about the problems of inter-ethnic relations in the context of current social trends. The empirical base of operation composed of comparative studies in the Moscow region. It was revealed that the prevailing trend of evaluations of the socio-economic situation in the country and in the capital is negative. The latter is the context of evaluation of the situation in the sphere of international relations in general. It is shown that a level of conflict in this region is high enough. Studies have fixed that, along with the problems, there are positive preconditions for the improvement of international relations: the characteristics of cultural identity of the inhabitants of the capital reflect the vector to unite peoples and cultures, historically residing on the territory of Russia.
