The Cardiovascular Effect of the Platelet Activator Factor
Abstract
Platelet activating factor (PAF) is one of the most potent mediators found in mammals. PAF is a phospholipid with diverse and potent physiological effects; it is a mediator of cell – to cell communication,which may function either as a intercellular and an intracellular messenger. PAF is produced by a variety of cells, such as monocytes/macrophages, polymorphonuclear and platelets [1].
