Higher education in the area of Engineering has traditionally been oriented towards individual student work, though this attitude doesn’t help on the acquisition of one of the most appreciated abilities at the labour market, such as team work competency. In this work we focus on encouraging a key component of team work competency as is the case of “Interaction among Students“. In order to do this, we have developed several educational activities focused on the 2nd year subject “Microcontrollers“, common to the Bachelor of Science Degrees in Electronic Systems, Telematics, Telecommunications Systems, Telecommunications Technologies, and Audio-Visual Engineering, at the University of Málaga. Additionally, we have established a set of indicators which allow us to evaluate the extent of targets compliance. Results have highlighted that interaction among students can be boosted by means of the proposed measures, despite the extra efforts required on the teacher’s part. Finally, some improvements on the procedure design have been proposed in order to achieve more efficiency. This work is part of ACAI project, a project aimed at developing a curriculum design of team work competency. This project will be continued, with the same students, in 3th and 4th year subjects of their bachelor degree, in order to develop other components of the competency
