DETERMINACIÓN DE LAS DIRECCIONES DE PALEOCORRIENTES EN EL CAMPO PROVINCIA, VALLE MEDIO DEL MAGDALENA
Abstract
Para la determinación de las direcciones de paleocorrientes en el Campo Provincia se tomaron 2.664 medidas de los registros de buzamiento (dipmeter), con las cuales se hicieron los análisis estadísticos de las formaciones (fms.) comprendidas entre la Formación (Fm) Umir y el Grupo (Gr) Real (edad Maastrichtiano a Mioceno). Las direcciones de paleocorrientes se definen con base en análisis estadísticos, como son el valor de la media (0, medida en azimuth) y su relación de consistencia (CR). Las direcciones de paleocorrientes son principalmente hacia el noreste para las Fms. Umir, real inferior para las Fms. Lisama, Esmeraldas, Mugrosa, Colorado, y Real Medio y en la dirección sureste para la Fm. Real Superior. En general se observaron cambios importantes en las direcciones de paleocorrientes entre las Fms. Umir-Lisama, Lisama-Esmeraldas, Colorado-Real y entre la parte Media y Superior del Gr. Real. Estos cambios en las direcciones de las paleocorrientes sugieren estar asociados con eventos tectónicos que afectaron esta área.For the determination of the palaeocurrent directions in the Provinica Field, were took 2664 measurements of the dipmeter logs were taken to make the statistical analyses of the Formations that are between Umir and the Real Group (Maastrichtian and Miocene age). The palaeocurrent directions are defined based on statistics analyses, as the average (in azimuth) and its consistency ratio (CR). The paleocurrent directions are principally to the northeast for the Umir and the Lower Real Formations; to the east for the Lisama, Esmeraldas, Mugrosa, Colorado and Middle Real Formations, and in the southeast for the Upper Real Formation. In general, there were observed important changes in the palaeocurrent directions between the Umir-Lisama, Lisama-Emeralds, Colorado-Real and between the medium and the upperpartof the Real Group. These changes in the paleocurrent directions suggest to be associated to tectonic events that involved this area.
