La epopeya de África occidental y la epopeya castellana: un análisis de literatura comparada
Abstract
African and Castillian epics have more features in common than one would think. Griots and Castillian bards share many features: the formulae, repetitions and themes are similar. Storytellers expect to obtain some profit in return for their stories, which thrilled their audience, magnifying the courage of local heroes. Moreover, the African epic has allowed European scholars to question some of the most controversial theories, such as the possibility that stories did not require a written version before they were orallytransmitted in royal courts and public squares.
