This article provides a description of lay couples invested in the construction of catholic wedding preparation. Nowadays, in France, engaged couples have to follow a wedding preparation if they want to get married in a Catholic church. This preparation is partly organized by lay catholic married couples who are very involved in parish life: with the help of priests and the association Centre de Préparation au mariage (CPM), they are in charge of the construction of the sessions and they also have to facilitate them. In this article, we will describe the role these lay couples play in the wedding preparation, focusing not only on the relationship they create with and between the fiancés, but also on their function into the Catholic Church.
