THE PROJECT RESCUE OF HISTORICAL DOCUMENTATION BARÃO DO RIO BRANCO: ACCESS TO SOURCES OF THE HISTORY OF BRAZIL EXISTING ABROAD

Abstract

General outline of the Projeto Resgate presenting the origin, development, structure, goals and results of this task of identification, description, digitalization and diffusion (by printed and digital way) of the documents concerning to Brazil´s History existing in European Archives, with prominence for the action developed in the Arquivo Histórico Ultramarino (AHU), Lisboa, where exist abundant and varied records concerning the Portuguese administration in colonial Brazil between the XVI and XIX centuries.
