The effectiveness of a problems solving -based learning strategy in the development f spatial thinking In mathematics among seventh grade students at Irbid City
Abstract
This study aimed at identifing the effectiveness of problem-based learning strategy in improving spatial thinking in mathematics among seventh grade students at Irbid City. The study used the semi-experimental design To achieve their Goals. The study sample consisted of (52) students, divided into two groups equally Experimental Group amounted (27) Students who study using problems solving -based learning strategy, and control group amounted (27) Students who Study by using traditional method. To achieve the objectives of the study, an educational material was prepared in the Unit of Geomtric Transformations based on the steps of learning to solve problems and a test in spatial thinking. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences in the students' scores on the spatial thinking test at the level of α = 0.05 for the experimental group. The study recommended using a problem-based learning strategy in mathematics-rich mathematics lessons, which students rely on in subsequent years.
