The rural schools, in the state of Para, have an educational proposal that seeks to offer quality education, considering the specificities of the rural reality. To this end, the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) is essential to define several elements of the educational process. However, some teaching units consider the document to be a mere legal requirement. In this context, the objective of this study was to analyze the PPP of a municipal school, located in the surroundings of a conservation unit in the Brazilian Amazon, in Sao Caetano de Odivelas, seeking to understand the strategies proposed to articulate the development of teaching, in the context of the local reality. The research adopted the qualitative method, with bibliographical and documental support and was carried out in the period from October 2022 to March 2023. Among the results, it is noteworthy that the PPP has limitations and is not an appropriate document to guide the actions and school practices. Among the limitations is the absence of the peculiarities related to the way of life, work, territory and territoriality of the people and populations of the Mocapajuba Marine Extractive Reserve.
