Features of training of applicants of the third educational and scientific level of specialty

In order to train highly qualified, competitive, integrated into the European and world scientific and educational space health professionals who are able to generate new ideas, solve complex problems and conduct original independent research in nursing, able to transfer modern knowledge, to implement scientific and pedagogical activity at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has developed and approved an educational and scientific program for the training of PhD students in the field of knowledge 22 Health Care, specialty 223 "Nursing". The aim of the study – to analyze the educational programs of higher education institutions of USA and Canada, where educational and scientific programs in the specialty "Nursing" are implemented and to identify the best scientific practices. Materials and Methods. While the development of the educational and scientific program of training of the PhD students in the field of knowledge 22 Health Care, specialty 223 "Nursing" the experience of implementation of such programs in higher educational institutions of the USA and Canada was analyzed. As a result of cooperation with foreign universities that are partners of our university, internships and online courses on the peculiarities of conducting research by nurses were performed, with the main attention paid to quality research methods. During the formation of the components of the curriculum, a number of new subjects specific to the training of PhD students in nursing were introduced. Conclusions. Undoubtedly, education is a way for nurses to improve their skills. At the same time, the national shortage of teachers of nursing, with their artificial replacement by doctors or teachers, is reaching critical levels, which has a significant impact on educational programs and the ability to educate future generations of nursing students. In Ukraine, the critically low level (or complete absence) of professional instructors-nurses with a scientific degree, and that lead to the need to support and promote the existence of educational and scientific program of training of PhD students in the field of knowledge 22 Health Care, specialty 223 "Nursing", which combines best scientific practices
