In recent years Neurosurgery Specialists have seen a dramatic improvement in imaging techniques, which has led, in parallel, to the resurgence of stereotactic techniques. As a result of the coordinated effort of specialists in Neurosurgery, Oncology, Biology, Pathology, Radiotherapy, Physics, etc. . every day new data on the biological behavior of brain tumors are known, which envisions new standards of performance. Stereotaxic can be defined as the stereotactic location of a point in space and stereotactic surgery and specialty within the field of Neurosurgery, it uses an external apparatus for introducing a catheter or other instrument to a defined and specific purpose in the central nervous system. The stereotactic method for locating a point within the cranial cavity or the rachis and reach it in a precise and reproducible manner, to achieve this goal stereotactic techniques have been combined with the Radiology and today with imaging techniques: cerebral computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and digital techniques cerebral arteriography.
