Puntuacíon y reglas. La trattazione della punteggiatura nella normativa sulla lingua spagnola

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of the recent production about punctuation rules in Spanish language. Starting from the publications of the Real Academia Española, my research – after a check about the attention possibly reserved to punctuation in the RAE manual of grammar, focuses on the treatment of punctuation in the last two editions of the Ortografía and in the two reductions recently published. I conclude with a brief review of the results of the analysis made on the treatment of the punctuation rules in some relevant Spanish spelling, writing and communication manuals.
