INTERTEXTUALITY AS A DISCOURSE FORMING CATEGORY OF FANTASY GENRE SPACE

Abstract

The article studies discursive space of fantasy genre on the basis of such feature as intertextuality. The basic approaches to the intertextuality classification are given as well as the genre peculiarities of fantasy works and specific features of their intertextual relations. The paper concludes that intertextuality is the basic category of fantasy discursive space formation. The main means of realization of intertextual relations is mythological and sociocultural implicit allusion. Works by A. Norton served as material for the research.
