Nursing Care with NANDA Diagnosis and NIC Interventions After Acute Myocardial Infarction and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Case
Abstract
Patient follow-up after myocardial infarction and percutaneous coronary intervention is highly important for preventing complications that may develop in the patient in the early period. Accordingly, it is of prime importance for nurses to have sufficient knowledge and skills concerning hemodynamic monitorization, cardiac care, assurance of hemostasis and evaluation of results. This case presentation examined the present and possible complications in a patient who had been involved in percutaneous coronary intervention after a myocardial infarction and continued to receive treatment in the cardiovascular service after an eight-day treatment in the coronary intensive care unit and included 5 nursing diagnoses in the NANDA Taxonomy II and 15 nursing interventions in the NIC.
