Abstract
The aim of this article is to open a window to the perception of justice through stories, and its era is limited to religious, morality and tasawwuf masnawis written in the sixteenth century. Sixteenth century’s masnawi tradition of classical Turkish literature is a period in which masterful works are composed, diversity and also authors with hamsa proliferate increased. On one side; social, political and the economic power of the Ottoman Empire and on the other side the freedom of the authors using their language freely which is reflected on the richness of the subjects, covered in the masnawis. Authors who adopted the traditional method of narration through stories have supported the impact and the permanence of their works with many stories that shed light on almost every subject. In these masnawis, the importance of the concept of justice is emphasized with many stories. In this context, 17 masnawis of 11 poets of 16th centuries expressing the absolute need for justice in the individual and social spheres were identified and classified. In the stories, at first the understanding of divine justice, explaining the fairness of God’s justice, is discussed; The difficulty of the servants in comprehending this is emphasized, however in the end it is stated that Allah eliminated the oppression and gave the oppressed their due. However; human justice is mostly discussed in stories that include administration of justice between the administrators and the people. Attention is drawn to the responsibilities of the administrative staff. The attitude that eliminates oppression and solves problems is encouraged. In this context, attention is drawn to the both positive and negative characteristics of the rulers, while the oppressed are encouraged to defend their rights, the importance of the behavior in this struggle is also emphasized.
