THE DEMOGRAPHIC FACTOR IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIETY: THE IDEAS AND ASSESSMENTS
Abstract
The article examines the historical and modern ideas of well-known thinkers about interconnection of development of society and his population from positions of demographic determinism. The problem is the need to study and interpret the relationship of socio-economic development of society and its population that is updated worsening demographic problems in today's globalized world. In the article this problem is discussed from the standpoint of ratings prehistoric teachings of Confucius, Plato, Aristotle, medieval philosophers Thomas Moore, T. Campanella, F. Aquinas and others, thinkers of the primitive accumulation of capital Adam Smith, Karl Marx, T. Malthus, etc., as well as modern economists J. Forrester, D. Meadows, etc., demographers R. Pressat, A. Sauvy, naturalists V. Vernadsky, S. Kapitsa. Review and analysis of theirs ideas is a necessary precondition for understanding and developing the concept of socio-demographic transformation mechanism of a family relations sphere. Assessment and ideas are combined with data on the population dynamics of the world and its regions from prehistoric times to the present day. These ideas over are brought in combination with data about the dynamics of population of the world, and the regions, and Russia.
