Experiences in the curriculum E implementation: results of 2022 Medicine career school promotion

Background: the implementation of a new curriculum in a university career has direct implications on the promotion and quality results of students. The E study plan in the Medicine career began in the 2019-2020 academic year. Objective: to describe the results of promotion and quality in the Medicine career, of the University of Medical Sciences of Las Tunas, during the 2022 course, in the academic years that have implemented the E curriculum. Methods: a descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study was performed in the career, university and academic year defined in the objective. The study population consisted of 815 students taking the regular examinations and the two extraordinary examinations. School promotion results and quality were analysed. The data was collected from official teaching secretariat documents and treated according to descriptive statistics. Results: the best school promotion in regular examinations was in the second year (96 %), with two years of experience in the implementation of E Plan, the first year obtained the most discreet promotion results (79 %). At the end of the second extraordinary tests, the promotion in the first two academic years reached 98 % and 99 % for the third. Quality reached 96 %. Conclusions: the results of school promotion and quality in the Medicine career in the academic years that have implemented the E curriculum were described.
