Liu D, Wang H, Zhang Y, Zhang Z. Drug Des Devel Ther. 2020;14:51–60. At the authors request, we, the Editor and Publisher of the journal Drug Design, Development and Therapy have retracted the published article. Following publication of the article, the authors raised concerns about the duplication of images from Figures 4 and 5 with images from an unrelated article. Specifically, The images for Figure 4A, TUNEL, CI/R, 100, and Figure 5C, TUNEL, CI/R+ML385, have been duplicated with the images for Figure 2A, TUNEL, Eriocitrin, 16 and I/R, respectively, from He J, Zhou D, Yan B. Eriocitrin alleviates oxidative stress and inflammatory response in cerebral ischemia reperfusion rats by regulating phosphorylation levels of Nrf2/NQO-1/HO-1/NF-κB p65 proteins. Ann Transl Med. 2020;8(12):757. https://doi.org/10.21037/atm-20-4258. In addition, the images for Figure 4A, TUNEL, CI/R, - and 20, have been duplicated. The authors were cooperative and responded to our queries but were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for how the images came to be duplicated or provide satisfactory original data for the study. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, the authors requested to retract the article and the Publisher and Editor agreed with this decision. We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
