The paper contains a parallel text analysis of German and Polish contracts of employment. The aspects of interest in the research also include legal norms concerning contracts of employment in both legal systems, the regulations pertinent to how such contracts should be drafted and how the parties are named. A list has also been prepared of necessary components which the contract in question should contain in both languages. The selected parallel texts have been analysed at the legal and linguistic level. The results of the analysis should make it possible to avoid errors in translation of employment contracts to German and to Polish.
