Irreversible phase field models for crack growth in industrial applications: thermal stress, viscoelasticity, hydrogen embrittlement
Abstract
Article Highlights An irreversible phase field model for crack growth realizes a non-healing property and an energy gradient structure simultaneously. New compact and energy-consistent phase field models for thermal cracking in solder and cracking in a viscoelastic material are proposed. As a novel approach to hydrogen-assisted cracking, a weak coupling model with a kinetic jamming effect is proposed and numerically studied.
