Dissoluzioni e dissolutezze: forme del desiderio all'ombra della crisi tonale
Abstract
Harmonic evolution seems to be related to the various forms of desire we can find in the operatic theatre. Aim of this essay is to show how tonal and harmonic solutions give expression to different desires in some crucial operas like Strauss's Elektra (1905), Schoenberg's Erwartung (1909), Schreker's Die Gezeichneten (1916) and Hindemith's Cardillac (1926).
