Hydrothermal method was employed for the synthesis of TiO2 nanoparticles and the synthesis of graphitic-carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was carried out by thermal polymerization of dicyandiamide. Thermal deposition method was employed to couple TiO2 with g-carbon nitride (g-C3N4). The synthesized materials were confirmed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) analysis. Synthesized TiO2 nanoparticles and TiO2/g-C3N4 composites were employed for the removal of chromium in wastewater by adsorption studies. Higher percentage of chromium removal was observed with TiO2/g-C3N4 composite because of sheet like morphology and higher porosity of the material.
