Cardiac myxoma of mitral valve: An uncommon presentation
Abstract
Primary cardiac tumors are mostly benign and myxoma is the commonest among them. It is an intra-cavitary, pedunculated tumor of cardiac chambers, commonly arising from left atrium. It is uncommon to have myxoma of mitral valve. We hereby report a young lady presented with severe mitral regurgitation and a mitral valve mass, who had successful surgical excision of the myxomatous tumor along with mitral valve replacement.
