EXPLORATORY STUDY OF MID VOWEL RAISING /e o/ IN ALIB: DATA FROM FLORIANOPOLIS

Abstract

The aim of the present work is to investigate the mid vowel raising /e o/ in Florianopolis dialect. Data were collected from the Brazilian Linguistic Atlas (ALIB) and analyzed based on geolinguistic and acoustic phonetics approaches. Data analysis showed the pre-stressed mid vowel raising.
