Abstract: This research aims at investigating learner autonomy readiness among Algerian University EFL learners. It was carried out at the University of 20 août 1955, Skikda. The sample consists of 55 Master students who represent two groups, undertaking their first semester of Master degree at the English Language department. Quantitative data were obtained through an online survey aimed at finding out to what extent they are ready to be autonomous. This concept was examined by focusing on three aspects: Participants' evaluation of learners' and teachers' responsibility for learning, in and outside the class, participants' evaluation of their ability to direct their own learning, and finally, their experiences with some learner autonomy practices during this academic year. The analysis of the data provided valuable results pertaining to learners' perceptions and behaviours and thus their overall readiness for learner autonomy; examination of students' responses revealed that both their beliefs and behaviours include instances of their readiness for autonomy.
