AbstractWe, the Editor and Publisher of Cogent Social Sciences, have retracted the following article:Waiphot Kulachai (2023) Local government in Thailand: A way forward, Cogent Social Sciences, 9:2, https://doi.org/10.1080/23311886.2023.2268972Following publication, concerns were raised by a reader regarding the accuracy of references included in the published article. Third World Quarterly, 31(7), 1083–1100.When approached for an explanation, the author admitted that there were a number of errors in the references. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, we are therefore retracting the article.
