Abstract
The presented contribution is based onresearch materials of a defended master’s thesis.It deals with the issue of defining the term “superstition”and subsequently presents its own research,which is focused on the superstition thatwarns against buying a stroller before the birth ofa child. The research uses discussion forums fromfive countries – the Czech Republic, Slovakia,Poland, Austria and Germany. The theoreticalfoundation for the research methodology consistsof cyberanthropology, a scientific discipline whichinvestigates cyberculture. The method applied inthe analysis of the contents of the discussion forumentries is a formal analysis of the text.
