This paper investigates the multifaceted aspects of accessibility within zoo environments, focusing on the case of Brasilia Zoo. Recognizing the importance of adopting a comprehensiv e approach to accessibility, the study aims to achieve a balance between ensuring animal welfare and enhancing visitor experience. By examining various factors influencing accessibility, including physical and safety features, educational components, environmental considerations, the researc h seeks to shed light on effective strategies for promoting inclusion, sustainability, animal welfare. The research adopted a comprehensive mixed-methods approach, focused on the context of the Brasilia Zoo. The collection of data has been facilitated by aerial surveying and 3D scanning, integrated into the Geographic Information System. A SWOT analysis has been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of existing accessibility measures and to identify areas for improvement. Findings reveal specific challenges and opportunities at Brasilia Zoo. In conclusion, adopting a comprehensive approach to enhancing accessibility at Brasilia Zoo can significantly improve the visitor experience while addressing the zoo’s unique challenges and animal welfare. By implementing tailored interventions, the zoo can create a more inclusive environment for both visitors and animals. This underscores the importance of ongoing research and innovation in promoting accessibility, sustainability, and enhancing visitor satisfaction at Brasilia Zoo.
