Enterobacter cloacae multidrug-resistant: a case report of nosocomial urinary catheter-associated infection
Abstract
Enterobacter species, particularly E. cloacae and E. aerogenes, are important nosocomial pathogenes responsible for various infections. We report a 70-y-old patient with catheter-associated urinary tract infection (UTI) caused by a nosocomial Enterobacter cloacae with multidrug-resistance.The identification of isolates from clinical culture and the study of pattern antimicrobial susceptibility were performed to the clinical risolution of the patient’s disease. The initial empirical antimicrobial therapy resulted ineffective.
