In order to reduce the energy consumption of data centers in the southern coastal region and enhance the analysis of the water cold storage system, the water cold storage system was selected as the energy storage solution based on the cooling load of data centers in the Pearl River Delta region and the local time-of-use tariff policy. First, the water cold storage system and operation control scheme were optimized; second, the operation situation, energy consumption and economy of the water cold storage system were analyzed for typical days, months and whole year. The results show that the optimized water cold storage system can guarantee the indoor end-load demand and operate efficiently, and the annual cooling operation cost is reduced by 25.78%, which has a good effect of "peak-load shifting effect" and reduces the cooling electricity cost significantly.
