Historyczne “wyrazy przyrodnicze”', gryka, dzięcielina, świerzop i ich słowiańskie synonimy przekładowe
Abstract
“Nature words”: gryka, dzięcielina, świerzop are considered from the point of view of the original (the text of Pan Tadeusz by Adam Mickiewicz) and of the translation (various Slavonic translations). In the paper we present consecutively: the origin of the name, duration time, lexical forms (Polish and Slavonic), lexical definition sequences (SWiTL), a selection of translation synonyms corresponding to book 1,1114-22. We consider plant names used in the definition sequence (e.g. gryka, poganka, tatarka) as closer synonyms; the plant names belonging to the same semantic field (e.g. świerzop and ku- roślep or stokłosa as a weed) as farther synonyms; the names which share only the semantic feature of colour found in gryka, dzięcielina or świerzop (eg. mięta and gryka = white; macierzanka and dzięcielina = red; krokus and świerzop = yellow) are classified as the farthest translation synonyms. A complete change of the original semantic field (e.g. Croatian jatam instead of Polish świerzop} is considered here a non-synonymous translation equivalent (a quasi-synonym).
