Globalization has its support in the international exchange of goods, where maritime ports play a key role, so the competitiveness of countries is deter-mined by the ability of these nodes of the global network to meet the demands of the various actors who demand their services.World classifications are periodically published on the performance of maritime ports, taking into account quantitative factors, while giving less importance to other criteria that the actors of the port logistics chain value for their qualification. In this regard, this research paper presents a comprehensive evaluation model with eight criteria, following the multicriteria methodology with the Thomas Saaty technique, with a weighting of dominance among the criteria assigned by sector experts through an online survey. It is provided a practical example with five ports to demonstrate that the best ports adequately combine the various criteria to achieve the goal of providing quality services, ensuring that ships and containers stay as little time as possible in their facilities
