Abstract
VI International readings from Buturlin, dedicated to the memory of Sergei Buturlin a famous Russian ornithologist, was held in September 19–21, 2019 in Ulyanovsk. In Russia, the Federal Law dated October 16, 2019 No. 340-FZ “On Amending Article 258-1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation” was carried into effect. It tightens the criminal liability for illegal hunting and trafficking of especially valuable wild animals listed in the Red Book and (or) protected by international treaties of the Russian Federation. Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) was declared “The Bird of 2020” in Kazakhstan. VIII International Conference on research and conservation of raptors in North Eurasia “Birds of Prey in Anthropogenic, Natural and Quasi-natural Landscapes: Modern Challenges and Trends” will be held in September 21–27, 2020 based on the Voronezh State Nature Biosphere Reserve named after V.M. Peskov. Annual Meeting of the Raptor Research Foundation and Neotropical Raptor Network will be hold in 4-8 October 2020, Boise, Idaho, USA. XV International Ornithological Conference of Northern Eurasia, dedicated to the memory of academician M.A. Menzbier (165th birth anniversary), will take place in Minsk, Belarus, on the base of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in November 2–7, 2020.
