Modeling unsteady two-phase blood flow in catheterized elastic artery with stenosis

We consider the problem of unsteady two-phase blood flow in a catheterized elastic artery with stenosis, where the form and extent of the stenosis is chosen based on the available experimental data for a human's artery with stenosis. Equations for the dependent variables of the two-phase arterial blood flow are solved together with the equations for the elastic wall displacements subjected to reasonable modeling and approximation. We find, in particular, that the radial and axial displacements of the elastic wall oscillate in time, and their oscillations grow with increasing the hematocrit, catheter size, volume flow rate, blood pressure force and the viscoelastic wall stress, but such oscillations decay with increasing the elastic wall stiffness and the elastic wall thickness.
