Digital Projects of Public Libraries of Ukraine as a Component of the National Information Space

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to highlight the peculiarities of the project activities of public libraries of Ukraine in the conditions of digitization of information and library resources and services as components of the national information space.The methodological basis of the article was social-communicative approaches and methods of analysis and synthesis, cognitive and the method of generalization, which made it possible to fully realize the purpose of the study. The scientific novelty consists in the generalization of successful and relevant digital projectsof public libraries of Ukraine as a component of the national information space. Conclusions. During the implementation of digital projects by public libraries of Ukraine, a new model of providing society with information was developed through broad cooperation of the main participants of the information field both at the all Ukrainian and regional levels on the basis of partnership and generally accepted standards. The development of regional information projects is the main prerequisite for establishing cooperation between libraries and other information institutions and organizations in the region. The main element of the strategy is the development and strengthening of the widest partnership relations, when public libraries become mediators, coordinators and legislators.
