The text offers some cases of Mediterranean «peri-urbanity» – or outskirts urbanity – in South-East Italia. These cases appeared during the latest decade through landscapes planning projects on the provincial scale of Lecce (2001) and on the regional scale of Apulia (2010). In a more specific manner, by exposing the fundamental issues of the new landscape regional plan and its cultural and political value for the protection of common goods, the «peri-urbanity» takes shape through an agro-environmental policy called «the city-country pact», which is based on a territory project and on the re-invention of a landscape.
