This paper provides an analytical review of the innovative mobile formative assessment tool “Plickers” which is designed for interactive testing and quizzing based on scanning QR codes. The description of the application “Plickers” and its particular features is given. The advantages and disadvantages of using “Plickers” to design and organise language tests are singled out. Some additional tips on using “Plickers” in the foreign language classroom are suggested.
